A sick planet and anxious children: How to reverse it and nurture happy and healthy kids amidst COVID and our digital-driven world

We are living in exciting, but also extremely challenging times, especially when it comes to nurturing our vulnerable children amidst the spread of COVID. But the virus is not the only threat: An unhealthy increase in children’s screen time and the impact on their health and balanced development of the brain and body.

Electropollution is another invisible culprit, according to Dr Marlena Kruger, Integrative Digital Wellness Coach from MindUnique Education and founder of the TechnoLife Wise Foundation. “We cannot see or hear it, but electropollution affects us as we are all electrosensitive beings, because the functioning of our cells is bio-electrical and bio-chemical. Therefore, it is a real danger for the health and wellbeing of especially our unborn and new-born babies, as well as children.

“Children’s skulls are much thinner and their bodies much smaller, and their brains and bodies absorb much more harmful, low energy (non-ionising) radiation, coming from unnatural electromagnetic frequencies (EMF) emitted continuously from wireless devices, such as Wi-Fi, cell phones, tablets, laptops, smart meters and all the supposed to be wonderful gadgets that are part of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the Internet of Things (IoT),” says Dr Kruger.

The exponential increase in electropollution is one of our world’s biggest threats for climate change as well as the biggest “unseen and unspoken” health risks for humans and the natural balance of our planet and all living creatures.

“The uncontrolled increase of Electrosmog in our environments can also be seen as a violation of Section 24A of the Constitution, which states that everyone has the right to an environment that is not harmful to their health and wellbeing, similar than the health risks associated with smoke pollution,” says Dr Kruger.

“Our biggest responsibility as parents and adults is to love our children and nurture their healthy development so that they become well-balanced adults who enjoy and celebrate real life in all its dimensions.”

To become more digitally wise in your home and at work, here are some life-saving tips:

a) Use network cables wherever possible.

b) Switch your phone and other wireless devices off or on flight mode if not in use – especially during night time.

c) Take all screens and wireless devices out of bedrooms at night to ensure a good night’s rest.
